Easy-peasy Green!

This is my really simple, subtle and green look for the day! I used:

  • Urban Decay primer potion
  • NYX e/s in Lime Juice
  • MAC e/s in Humid
  • MAC pearl glide in Blackline
  • Maybelline Great Lash mascara
It's totally wearable on a normal day, the colours are very soft and the application is simple. If you want to make this more dramatic, use with a black or green base. Hope you like!

Here are some pictures!

Can you see the beauty of the Blackline eyeliner??

Thanks! And do leave me your thoughts :D

MAC "Mating Call" - RSL

Hello!

So I recently got MAC's Mega Metal eyeshadow from the Peacocky collection in Mating Call and I was very happy with my new e/s as I don't have a colour like this in my collection.

  • The colour is a pretty, shimmery pinky-mauve. I am not too good with decribing colours but it is kind of a dark lilac if you will.
  • I wouldn't say that is a really unique colour - It's pretty but definitely been seen before.
  • The eyeshadow comes in a bigger pan size than the norm. It has been said to be the size of MAC's cream colour bases and the e/s from Tartan Tale collection.
  • Very soft in texture.
  • It's easy to apply and blend.
  • No fallout when I used it.
  • It becomes a nice purply colour when used with a black base such NYX JEP in Black Bean.
  • Price: This collection is not out in India yet so no idea.
This is all I have to say about the e/s for now. I have had a chance to use it just today and I created two looks. I must say that the looks don't do justice to the actual colour. The colour pictured in the e/s pan is actually what the real colour is like, and so is the swatch.

I am a little disappointed with the way the colour shows up in the pictures but that's because of my photography and lighting issues. But overall the looks turned out good so I am happy.

Products used:
  1. Look 1:
  • MACe/s in Mating Call
  • NYX e/s in Space
  • MAC e/s in Beauty Marked
  • Loreal lineur intense eyeliner
  • Inglot White e/s
  • Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
   2. Look 2:
  • MAC e/s in Mating Call
  • MAC e/s in Beauty Marked
  • MAC e/s in Romp
  • Loreal lineur intense eyeliner
  • Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero
  • Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
So for the first look, I created a crease using NYX space. In the second one, I created the crease and blended it up with Romp and then added more definition to the crease with Beauty marked. I did one look on each eye and yes, I took my dogs for a walk wearing two different looks on my eyes! :D

Here are some pictures:

Here you can appreciate the real colour of the e/s

First new makeup of 2011!!

Hello!

This is the first of my new stuff for 2011! I got:
  • Olay Complete all day SPF 15 moisturizer. This is my favorite moisturizer and works wonders for my skin. Lightweight enought to wear in the heat of Chennai and really loves my skin.
  •  NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Pots & Pans" - a very pretty steely silver colour
  • NYX e/s in "Lime Juice" - I was looking for a potent chartreuse colour and I thought this was it but this one swatched a bit lightly. It can be kind of compared to "Fresh Green Mix" mineralized e/s by MAC. - however it is more yellow and more matte.
  • MAC Mega Metal e/s in "Mating Call" - is a shimmery pinky mauve colour. Will do a detailed RSL in another post.
Here are the pictures!

I will do a detailed review-swatch-look with MAC's mega metal e/s in Mating Call. That's why I included this teaser of a finger swatch. :D

Colour me bold!

This look had been on my mind for a while. I really wanted to try out the colour combination of black, purple and cranberry. But I just could not figure out what I wanted my inner eye corner colour to be. So I mulled over it for a few days and then decided to let inspiration strike me while I was actually doing the look!

So I used a black base and a black e/s in the outer corner. The middle portion was to be cranberry and I wanted to blend the crease out with a purple. While doing the look, I just decided to use Warming Trend by MAC and it worked out pretty well! So here is the look!

Products used:
  • Benefit's Boing concealer
  • NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Black Bean
  • Black e/s from NYX Jazz Nights palette
  • MAC Cranberry e/s
  • MAC Warming Trend e/s
  • Ben Nye pigment .in Amethyst
  • Loreal lineur intense eyeliner
  • Maybelline Great Lash mascara
Enjoy the pics!

Do let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Black & White Cut Crease.

Hello everyone!

I have been meaning to try out this black and white cut crease for the longest time and today I finally got down to doing it. I'm not sure how I feel about it - I certainly don't feel that it is brilliant. I guess I pictured it to be much more dramatic but it has turned out to be very simple - which is not so bad in itself. Also, the pictures could have come out better. Anyways, do let me know what you think about it, and also any feedback on how to make it more dramatic.

Products used:

  • Benefit Boing Concealer
  • NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk
  • Black eye pencil
  • Black eyeshadow from NYX Jazz Nights Palette
  • Inglot white eyeshadow
  • Loreal Lineur intense eyeliner
  • Maybelline great lash mascara
Here are the pictures.

So do let me know what you think!!

Thanks

MAC - Tartan Tale - Pearlglide eyeliner in Blackline

Hellooo!

In the never ending quest for eyeliners that will love my waterline and want to stick to it, I must share with you my experience with a new product.

I was recently gifted a MAC Pearlglide eyeliner in Blackline. It is part of the Tartan Tale collection currently out in India. The colour is a greenish black colour with a dull gold shimmer to it. Now, I am not a fan of greens but this green leans toward the olive - mehendi green side. And the gold shimmer just adds to its uniqueness.

  • It stayed on my water line for around 6 hours - and then it slowly started fading at the corners because of MY super-extra-watery eyes. So I think it will stay on longer for people with normal eyes!
  • The eyeliner is smudge proof and does not BUDGE once applied.
  • Price: Rs. 950/-
There isn't too much to say - this is an excellent product with a very unique colour. It has a long lasting effect (a must for me due to my watery eyes.) Totally worth the price & a must have!

Check out some pictures to truly appreciate the colour of this eyeliner!

The eyeliner with the packaging.

Swatch!

On me eyes!

Can you see the glittery effect of the eyeliner?

I am really tempted to get the another one of these in "Petrol Blue" - another brilliant colour!

Have you tried any of these pearlglide eyeliners?

Thanks!

Mean and Green!

Hi!

Mean and Green is one of the nail laquers from the MAC venomous villains collection that is currently for sale in India. I got this a while back and had not managed to try it out till today!

First off, I wanted to say that when I wandered into the MAC store, I had no mind to buy a nail polish of ALL things. The lady however was really nice and helpful and showed me this at the very end of my time there - and agreed to try it on my nail just to humour her. I really wasn't impressed after she put the first coat on and then when she went on to the 2nd and 3rd, I just could not stop staring at my nail! It was so beautiful that I just had to buy it!

So here are my inputs:

  • The colour can truly be described as "Mean & Green." It is a beautiful and unique "shot" colour. If you live in India you know what this means - two colours in one (if that makes sense.)
  • It is a stunning mix of dull green and hot pink. It looks green at one angle and pink at another.
  • The colour is very very glittery and needs to be built up.
  • The first layer is very pretty and sheer.
  • The colour really comes out after 2-3 coats - the pink becomes more and more obvious.
  • Overall, easy to apply and fairly quick to dry.
  • Price: Rs. 720/-
Great gorgeous colour, truly unique and I think very fun! It's a great party look for your nails!

Enjoy the pics!

In its packaging!

See how it looks pink here?

Now it looks pink with a hint of green..

And now you can really see the olive-dull green colour!

Finally on my nails!

The last pic does no justice to what it actually looks like. But you can tell from the bottle how stunning this colour is.

Have you tried this yet? Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

MAC - venomous villains "She who dares": Review, Swatches & a Look!

Hellooo!

So this is an RSL - review, swatch, look for the new mineralized eye-shadow "She who dares" from the venomous villains collection!

  • The eye-shadow is a beautiful mineralized blue and green combination. They are highly shiny and I love all things shiny! It contains the sheerest green and blue micro particles that makes these eye-shadows totally worth it!
  • The packaging has Maleficent on the box as well as the actual container.
  • The plastic of the pot has a sheen to it and is not the regular matte looking plastic that are usual for MAC e/s
  • The inner clear plastic is raised up a little which makes the e/s a bit difficult to get out of the box.
  • The e/s itself has gorgeous colours - a blue and green mineralized duo.
  • There was minimal fallout when I used it.
  • Also I was very surprised to note that they blended fairly easily onto the skin.
  • The colours are pretty sheer when applied without a coloured base but come to life when applied over a black base. I used it over NYX jumbo eye pencil in black bean.
  • The best way to get maximum pigmentation was to "pack" on the e/s in a patting motion.
  • Price: Rs. 1150/-
I have used this only once and frankly, I quite love the colours. The blue is absolutely electrifying and the green is such a bright & brilliant one!

Trying out a peacock look

So the inspiration for this look was that of a peacock. I wanted to do something fun for the eyeliner. The look does need refining, the peacock is not perfect and neither is the makeup.

Products used include:
  • Mac Painterly paint pot
  • Maybelline Give me gold palette
  • Ben Nye pigment in Peacock
  • Mac pigment in Golden lemon
  • Mac eyeliner (penultimate?)

Trying to push the edges of my creativity! LOL! Let me know what your feedback is!
